The 1917 Cutlass Sword – A Different Kind of Sword
What sets apart the 1917 cutlass sword from the other sabers within its class was the fact that it blade was much broader compared to the usual blade width of sabers or military swords. These types of swords were much easier to wield in battle because it took little training in order for one to learn how to use them. More importantly, the Cutlass became very popular because it was linked with pirates because it was often the sailor’s weapon of choice for easy rope and wood cutting on sea.
