The Juniper bonsai family is the common group of bonsai like the Chinese Juniper Greenmound that are hardy conifers. They do not produce any flowers, but they are very easy to prune and train. Because of this, the Juniper is one of the bonsai that is often cultivated by beginners. Note that Junipers do have pretty prickly needles, so you’ll want to wear a pair of thick gloves when you shape them. These needles can actually cause an itchy, red rash in some people, so you should be careful when performing maintenance on your Juniper. You should do your pruning in the spring or the fall, not the summer.

Other than beginning with seeds, pre-bonsai indoor trees are a route to start up in Bonsai that many folks would not consider. However if you’d really like to start from the ground up this is the way to go. Now, some people think growing indoor bonsai offers more value versus bonsai outside. One advantage is that it’s an all year hobby. Plus quite a few people -plant lovers- will embark upon this new enterprise with very familiar plants like this Ficus Nerifolia Indoor Pre Bonsai. This is one of many ficus you can grow, (besides the well known Benjamina and the Rubber tree).Yes, the Rubber tree is indeed a ficus – Ficus elastica, actually. Although no- Rubber trees don’t make good bonsai candidates. Among other ficus to grow include the Taiwan fig, the Ginseng Fig and the Green Island.

But what exactly an indoor pre-bonsai? It starts as a subtropical or even tropical tree or shrub that is growing in a container. Over time it’s been pruned in preparation it for its new life as your bonsai tree. It hasn’t been put into a real bonsai pot although it’s been root pruned a few times to keep the tree in a slightly smaller than usual container. What should you do next? One thing is to become knowledgeable about your bonsai’s basic requirements. You can, find yourself a good book or join your local bonsai group. Take a look at the stores with bonsai supplies. Choose bonsai soil that drains well, and you can add some moss spores. Patiently observe the potential of your plant and visualize how it will look with time. Oh, and get ready to experience a wonderful hobby.

Thinking of a countertop water filter? Think Aquasana! Their Aquasana AQ-4000 countertop water filter is one of the most affordable and certainly one of the most cost effective water filtration device ever offered. Let’s face it, any kind of filter is better than none when it comes to filtering you water out of you tap. We all hear stories about the amount of contaminants that are occurring in our water supply. Our municipal water supplies authorities do the best that they can be they certainly fall short of removing all of these contaminants. That’s where having a point of use filter is so necessary.

You see the “perfect” place to filter the water is where? Right before you drink it, correct? Of course. That is why the Aquasana AQ-4000 is such a godsend. Filtering at less than 10 cents a gallon, it is the perfect replacement for bottled water or expensive pitcher type filters. You see, those pitcher type filters end up actually costing more than the Aquasana unit. They pitcher type typically cost somewhere between 30-50 cents per gallon. You can get your Aquasana filter at Better Water Store.
