Ficus Nerifolia Pre Bonsai

Other than beginning with seeds, pre-bonsai indoor trees are a route to start up in Bonsai that many folks would not consider. However if you’d really like to start from the ground up this is the way to go. Now, some people think growing indoor bonsai offers more value versus bonsai outside. One advantage is that it’s an all year hobby. Plus quite a few people -plant lovers- will embark upon this new enterprise with very familiar plants like this Ficus Nerifolia Indoor Pre Bonsai. This is one of many ficus you can grow, (besides the well known Benjamina and the Rubber tree).Yes, the Rubber tree is indeed a ficus – Ficus elastica, actually. Although no- Rubber trees don’t make good bonsai candidates. Among other ficus to grow include the Taiwan fig, the Ginseng Fig and the Green Island.

But what exactly an indoor pre-bonsai? It starts as a subtropical or even tropical tree or shrub that is growing in a container. Over time it’s been pruned in preparation it for its new life as your bonsai tree. It hasn’t been put into a real bonsai pot although it’s been root pruned a few times to keep the tree in a slightly smaller than usual container. What should you do next? One thing is to become knowledgeable about your bonsai’s basic requirements. You can, find yourself a good book or join your local bonsai group. Take a look at the stores with bonsai supplies. Choose bonsai soil that drains well, and you can add some moss spores. Patiently observe the potential of your plant and visualize how it will look with time. Oh, and get ready to experience a wonderful hobby.
